Lightsource BP started development of Terwolde Solar Farm in the summer of 2018. The site is located north of Terwolde, on the border of the municipalities of Voorst and Olst-Wijhe.

After initial discussions with the Voorst municipal planning department, it was apparent that under the existing policies the development of the solar farm would be permitted. The policy , “Beleidsuitgangspunten Zonnevelden 2.0’’ was adopted on 13 May 2019 by the municipal council of Voorst with clear and ma process steps that the development.

In accordance with municipal policy, a communication session took place on 17 June 2019 in the ‘Dorpshuis Terwolde’ at the Vaassenseweg 3-A in Terwolde and a communication and participation plan was drawn up together with local residents.

Our Proposal

The plan will be further elaborated in cooperation with renowned agency Sweco, residents and stakeholders. The research results from various aspects such as archaeology, soil, ecology, landscape values ​​and perception shall be considered for the plans as well. The plan area can be seen below:
