Powering Ernst & Young with solar energy

In late 2020, Lightsource bp was selected to provide Ernst & Young LLP ‘EY’ with its first zero-carbon Power Purchase Agreement. The power is generated by theThornham solar plant near Hunstanton, Norfolk which has a 20.6MWp installed capacity.

Lightsource bp financed and developed the solar plant, and in line with our dedication to improving global sustainability,  the Thornham solar plant features new hedgerow and tree planting, nesting bird protections, grassland creation and bird and bat boxes as well as ecological monitoring. All these measures have been taken to ensure that the solar plant doesn’t just generate renewable electricity, but also has a positive impact on the local environment. This site was sold in 2021.
